Censure for Ex-Am Law 100 Partner Approved By D.C. Court

A public censure for former Saul Ewing and Venable partner Sheryl Robinson Wood has been approved by the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, after she confessed about her intimate contact with former Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick while serving as a court-appointed monitor of the city’s police department. Ivins, Phillips & Baker managing partner Eric Fox, Sharp & Associates partner Stephen Grafman, and D.C. Superior Court attorney Janice Buie recommended Wood to receive a public censure and took her to charge for her behavior in a 12-page report. Detroit is still tracking lawsuit against Wood individually and another of her former employers in an effort to recover $10 million in legal fees paid out in connection with her work as police monitor.
