DLA Piper launches pro bono fellowship program

DLA Piper has started an annual pro bono fellowship program. It will take two new associates to devote their first year of work to pro bono matters at the firm. The DLA Piper/Krantz Fellowship Program is an honor to Sheldon Krantz, who was associated with law firm as a partner. Sheldon retired from law firm in June, 2011. He was a director of the firm's global pro bono affiliate ''New Perimeter'' since its inception in 2005. He is a great pro bono leader and diligent mentor to students, associates, and junior partners. The fellowships will be awarded to two law students joining the firm as associates in 2012. Beneficiaries will be paid the same salary as all first-year associates. They will work full-time with the pro bono division during their first year at DLA Piper.
