Akerman Senterfitt Opens Office in Salt Lake City with an Expansion of National Consumer Finance Practice Group
Akerman Senterfitt is exending its consumer finance practice by opening office in Utah. Two partners from local law firm Van Cott, Bagley, Cornwall & McCarthy hired by Akerman. Robert Scott and Chandler Thompson are specialized in consumer finance litigation and compliance practices. They will join a group of 50 lawyers who are hired for its national consumer finance group over the past year. This practice group has total 78 lawyers across 19 offices and is one of the biggest teams in the nation of attorneys dedicated to consumer finance litigation and compliance matters. It ranks among the top 100 law firms and its National Consumer Finance Practice Group represents mortgage loan originators, servicers and investors in class and individual lawsuits, bankruptcy adversary cases, contested foreclosures, and regulatory compliance matters.
