Jacksonville Legal Aid Honors One of its Own

This past weekend, Jacksonville Area Legal Aid participated in the Hubbard House Setting the Pace for Peace Domestic Violence Awareness Walk and this year, the event was especially important. The legal aid agency lost its director of human resources to domestic violence four months ago. Kathryn Jackson was a well respected and loved member of the legal team that works to ensure low income families have access to legal services. The agency's development director, Christa Figgins, said Jackson was ''the office mom''. Jackson's boyfriend murdered her and then committed suicide earlier this year. Figgins said Jackson was a loyal employee and her knowledge of the Florida legal system greatly benefited many Floridians as well as her co-workers.
