San Antonio office of our client seeks municipal attorney with 2-5 years of experience in representing Texas municipalities, municipally owned public utilities and other local government entities. The candidate will assist the Firm's Public Law section in providing general counsel and City Attorney services to local municipalities, municipally owned public utilities and other local government entities. Will provide legal advice and guidance to municipal departments and staff. Provide legal advice and guidance to city council members. Conduct legal research, analysis and writing to issue legal opinions and advise on various legal and policy matters. Review and drafting of, contracts, grant agreements, ordinances, resolutions, motions, briefs and other legal documents. Engage in litigation as lead and co-counsel, including court appearances, hearings and trials, administrative law hearings, depositions, oral arguments, and negotiating settlements. Draft municipal ordinances and legislation; reviewing the legality, policy implications and operations impact of proposed laws. Handle public information requests received by our municipal clients. Attend city council meetings which are frequently conducted after normal business hours. Knowledge of substantive laws applicable to Texas local governments is essential. Experience as a municipal court prosecutor is needed. Must be licensed and in good standing with State Bar of Texas.
