This firm was founded in Virginia over a century ago. In recent years, the firm has expanded exponentially, opening offices overseas and throughout the South. With less than 50 attorneys, the environment is decidedly small-firm, but the atmosphere is still very professional. The firm's attorneys represent an international roster of clients in the areas of commercial and business transactions; maritime; government contracts and construction; workers' compensation; environmental; health care; real estate; tax; labor and employment; toxic torts; bankruptcy and creditors' rights; trusts and estates; insurance defense; international law; personal injury defense; immigration and general litigation.

This solid and growing firm (which recently acquired a smaller firm, bringing its total attorneys to over 200) does a good job of balancing the power center of the firm over its many locations throughout Virginia and up the East Coast. Although this firm practices every major area, the corporate section has been the most vital in recent years in terms of growth and development. The Virginia and DC offices work in concert many times for the best results. A small firm feel overall with a mid-sized regional presence, this firm will likely continue to establish its mark in the region.
