Patton Boggs Names Gibson Dunn as a Co-Conspirator
Patton Boggs has named Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher as a co-conspirator in a suit against Chevron, stating that attorneys at Gibson aided their client Chevron with an intimidation campaign meant to prevent Patton Boggs from representing the Ecuadorian citizens that are suing the oil company.
According to a complaint filed with a federal court, Gibson Dunn is accused of ''systematically attempting to destroy this contractual relationship'' between Patton and the Ecuadorian citizens.
Gibson Dunn denies any wrongdoing, issuing a response stating, ''Any case or controversy that may arise in the future should be resolved by the court in which it arises. It bears noting, however, that should Chevron seek to disqualify Patton Boggs, it would have very strong arguments for doing so.''
