Headquartered in BCG Attorney Search’s Chicago office, BCG recruiter Elizabeth Leach handles attorney placements in BCG’s Greater Midwest Region. A former litigator, she places attorneys at all levels in firms of all sizes and specialties in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin, as well as in North Dakota, South Dakota, Colorado, Montana, Idaho, Utah, and Wyoming.
Ms. Leach has an extensive background in both law and recruiting, which makes her exceptionally qualified to assist attorney candidates in finding positions that fit their unique backgrounds, skills and goals. She is a member of the Illinois and Louisiana bars, and joined BCG after several years as a Talent Strategist in the Professional Services division of CareerBuilder.
The daughter of a banker and a teacher, Ms. Leach grew up in a Chicago suburb with four sisters. She attended Newcomb College of Tulane University, where she majored in History. She always had an interest in law—given her propensity for logic, analysis and working through the “gray” areas that exist in life and systems—and during college she worked for a local prosecutor’s office and also as a court runner for a private law firm.
She remained in New Orleans after college to attend Tulane University School of Law. She graduated cum laude, excelled at oral advocacy, and she and her moot court partner became the first all-female team to win the school’s prestigious Senior Trial Competition.
After graduating, she spent seven years as a litigator with the New Orleans firm of Simon, Peragine, Smith and Redfearn, handling a variety of products liability, toxic tort, construction law, and insurance defense matters. Then she moved to Chicago and took a position with a small firm working on business law and estate planning matters. She also spent three years as a staff and pro bono attorney at the Chicago Legal Clinic—Daley Center, where she assisted pro se litigants in civil matters such as mortgage foreclosures and name changes. In 2006, she received the Chicago Legal Clinic Pro Bono Award.
She developed an interest in recruiting work and took a position with Galmont Legal, where she recruited for project-based legal staffing positions, including for Fortune 500 companies. After a few years with Galmont, she moved to CareerBuilder, where she specialized in high-level professional services placements. She joined BCG Attorney Search in order to concentrate on legal recruiting and make use of her own background in law to help her attorney candidates find their perfect jobs in the legal world.
A former triathlete, Ms. Leach stays in shape by swimming, running and cycling in indoor spinning classes and on outdoor paths along Lake Michigan. She is a prolific reader of everything from mysteries to nonfiction. She enjoys visiting London and Paris, and always looks forward to trips that take her to a sunny beach, including trips to California, Florida, Mexico, and the Virgin Islands.
I loved working with Liz as my recruiter. She basically reached out and told me that she thought she could find me a job in Chicago, and she delivered on her promise. I enjoyed reviewing the weekly updates on firm contacts and status of same. Liz was a great coach during the process (weekly telephone conferences, pertinent articles on the interview process, etc.)
Besides completing the BCG Application Worksheet and revising my resume per Liz's request, Liz took over and did all of the work. I did not have to continue checking the legal job sites, as Liz was doing this for me, as well as contacting other Chicago Law Firms regarding my interest in relocating to Chicago. In fact, I probably would not have ended up in Chicago without Liz's assistance, as my current position had not yet been advertised by my current employer.
The first three words that come to mind when I think of BCG are professional, aggressive, and timely.
I would rank BCG at the top (#1) compared to other recruiting companies.
I would highly recommend BCG to my peers or someone in a similar position looking for a career move. I was skeptical because I had been contacted by legal recruiters after graduation from law school to no avail. Liz was persistent in reaching out to me, and I decided to reply to see what might happen. I'm glad I did, as I am loving Chicago and working at my new firm.

Some of my favorite things about working with BCG include the following: Personalized service - It felt as if they got to know my background, qualifications, and needs moving forward; Frequent contact - Liz kept me well up to date on my status with various organizations and new opportunities; Trust - I had faith in Liz to seek out appropriate positions. This lessened my burden of needing to constantly be monitoring postings as I knew she would present me with opportunities that were a good fit; and just having someone to bounce ideas off of, remind me of the basics, and focus my thoughts heading into interviews.
Working with BCG saved me time and energy! Liz was the first filter for all jobs and only contacted me with options that were a possible fit.
The first three words that come to mind when I think of BCG are effective, efficient and reliable.
I would rank BCG as the best compared to other recruiters. If you are looking to move firms, you need to contact Liz at BCG. Whether you are causally searching or in the need for a quick move, Liz will be the person in your corner. She was constantly on the lookout for possible fits, prepped me for possible scenarios/outcomes at interviews and guided me though the offer process. She saved me time and energy and I would most certainly recommend her to others.

BCG provided an extremely knowledgeable, friendly and dedicated recruiter that guided me through the job search and interview process with ease. BCG had a multitude of articles, sample interview questions and videos to assist in my preparation.
Working with BCG and Liz Leach took a lot of stress and time commitment out of the process. It was a relief to know that someone was advocating for me at a variety of firms that I did not even know were hiring.
The first three words that come to mind when I think of BCG are experienced, well-prepared, and advocates.
I would not hesitate to use you again (if necessary) or refer you to a friend. The only way to optimize your job search is to work with a recruiting firm. Most people do not have any experience with recruiting firms, so they are very unsure of proceeding in that direction. But, in my opinion, particularly if you are working full-time, you simply cannot put the necessary time and effort in by yourself to locate a new position that meets the qualifications you are looking for. BCG does the heavy lifting by finding firms that meet your criteria and then tells you how they rank the firm and how it might meet your needs. BCG provides an all-encompassing service to finding a new position.
